Book club!

Meeting the first Wednesday of the month, why not get together with like minded folk to enjoy some classic tales?

We are currently reading "Hearts and Minds" by Amanda Craig. It is our first book.

Its about legal and illegal immigrants in London and their lives.

Just to let you know that we now have a Funeral Wake come celebration next Wednesday meaning you will have to congregate in the bar as the lounge and function room will be being used.

This should not be a problem as we are generally quiet in the bar on Wednesdays and there is quite a nice long table good for 10 or so to sit around away from the actual bar.

Hope this fits in with your needs still

I think that will be fine, I think there will only be a handful of us.

Hello,

Just a reminder that the book club will be meeting on Wednesday 23 June 7:30 at the Hilton House Hotel. This month we have read "The Road Home" by Rose Tremain. You don't need to have read to come along, we are a friendly bunch and will end up going :offtopic: anyway.

Hi Kirsty

As it is the England match is it worth considering postponing? I'm not into football myself but the hotel could be busy with supporters celebrating(!).

Just a thought xxx

Ladies

The England game will be over by 5pm and we are not a football venue, so it will be as quiet as any other Wednesday.

In fact if the weather stays the same you may even decide to meet in the garden, it doesn't get dark until close on 10pm.
