Hilton Parish Council may be given the oppertunity to participate in the South Derbyshire Police Section in partnership with Safer South Derbyshire Partnership Speedwatch Scheme.

The scheme is intended to monitor incidents of speeding motor vehicles, aimed particularly at rural villages within South Derbyshire. The monitoring of such vehicles will be completed by local community volunteers within the force area, by groups such as parish councils, residents associations and neighbourhood watch. The intention of the scheme is to educate and promote road safety and ultimately have an effect on casualty reduction. ...
